Stages of Gum Disease
Stage 1 Gingivitis
Symptoms may include swelling of the tissues, bleeding tenderness or bad
breath. At this stage gums may be loose but still attached high on the teeth.
Stage 2 Periodontitis
Symptoms may include bright red or receding gums, spaces between your teeth,
calculus (tartar) along the gumline, and some symptoms of stage 1.
Stage 3 Periodontal Disease
Symptoms include generalized bleeding and inflammation of the gums, with loss
of bone between the teeth, mobility, receding gums, exudate (puss) may be
evident when pressing on the gums. Also includes symptoms of stages 1 and 2.
PERIODONTAL DISEASE CAN BE TREATED!
STAGES OF THIS DISEASE CAN BE SEEN BELOW AND REFLECT WHAT
WE HAVE SEEN IN MANY OF OUR OWN PATIENTS:
